Welcome to the Marcus Troy & Nike Mavericks Project.

A couple months ago the team over at Nike Sportswear was briefing me on their upcoming campaigns for the fall and winter season called The Mavericks. The storyboard that they shared with me was so compelling that I absolutely needed to share it with you, my readers. I started working relentlessly with my team to bring you The Marcus Troy & Nike Mavericks Project.

By definition a maverick is an independent-minded person, a freethinking individual who refuses to conform, they are eccentric, original and value freedom. I believe there is a maverick spirit inside all of us.

I wanted to take the opportunity to share stories of some of the Mavericks that are a part of the Nike Sportswear campaign such as the original The Athletic West Club which are the original Mavericks, The Bridgerunners from New York, The Run Dem Crew from London and The Rock Trax Running Crew from Tokyo.

The reason why these stories are so important & compelling is because they speak to my sensibilities and fall inline with my philosophies that we are all more than…we all embody the maverick spirit.

Mavericks are so much more, their lifestyle, their actions, their passions and hobbies are all a reflection of what makes them a maverick. Eventually we will all realize the defining moment that will shape our lives forever and define us as mavericks like the runners I am highlighting.

As you peruse trough this new micro site you will be able to learn about The first part of the Nike Campaign The Running Mavericks and get inspired by their stories, you will also be able to see some new products that I’ve highlighted that go along with the campaign, the part that is really exciting is the fact that you will also be able to tell us your story about a defining moment in your life, what are you more than, what you want to be known for and what you are about.
